ChAiNeD- Opening

Plot:

Mutations in the genetic code where occurring without any damage being seen. Generations after generation it was being mixed with other variations of the same mutation, till eventually it turned into something. However, that something no one knew about. It still laid hidden, some will never know it existed.
However, some of these mutations, or how they now more commonly go by 'gifts', weren't so easy to hide. A child was born, and not more than a few years after that, wings started growing on his back. The parents tried to hide that their perfect little angel had, well, angel wings. However, outsiders found out. A strange collector abducted the child. Hidden underground, the collector showed the child like he was some unusual bird, with all the other animals he had in his unusual collection. One day the collector got an offer he could not refuse, and sold the boy to the wealthy bidder.
Since then, multiple other wild children have been found. Not just animal parts on human bodies. But elemental powers. These collectors then started investing in special cages that would hold these elements inside. These humans soon were treated no better than animals... Some even worse.
The outside world still doesn't know much about these gifteds. Secretly they are being harvested from the population. Being bought from poverty stricken parents for large sums of money, kidnapped, or tricked into thinking that this was a good thing.
However, some of the gifted spirits could not be broken. Some want to break free from the forces that keep them where they are. Some... think that they are better than the humans that called them mutations. And then there are those that have yet to be caught... What will happen to the once quiet city?
